Test Cutting

Before starting your project, we recommend performing a test cut on the material you are using.

  1. Select the pattern for test cutting according to the cut type to be used.

    Cut Type

    Patterns That Can Be Used

    Compatible Material

    Half Cut

Test Cut patterns or any other patterns

    Matless/ With Mat

    Perforation Cut

Patterns other than the Test Cut patterns

    Matless

    Full Cut

Test Cut patterns or any other patterns

    With Mat

To use Test Cut patterns, tap [TEST] in the list that appears after selecting [Cutting Designs] in the home screen, and then select from the available patterns. The pattern is automatically sized appropriately for test cutting.

Do not reuse material that has been test cut with the perforation cut. Otherwise, the material may become jammed during feeding or may not be cut properly.

  2. Arrange the pattern to be test cut, and resize it if necessary.

  3. Tap [Transfer], and then follow the in-app instructions to operate the machine.

  4. After all app instructions have been completed, tap [Done] to transfer the data.

  5. Press (Start/Stop Button) on the machine to start cutting.

  6. If the material does not cut cleanly, refer to the following table, and adjust the cut pressure setting:

Some or all of the pattern is not cut.

The cutting pressure may be too light. In Artspira’s Cut Settings screen, increase the cut pressure setting by one.

(When using Half Cut) The pattern is completely cut out of the material, not half cut.

The cutting pressure may be too strong. In Artspira’s Cut Settings screen, decrease the cut pressure setting by one.

(When using Full Cut) There are deep cuts completely through the mat.

The cutting pressure may be too strong. In Artspira’s Cut Settings screen, decrease the cut pressure setting by one.

If cutting is still not successful, even after changing the setting, there may be other causes. Refer to the following link, and take action appropriate for the symptom.
