Scan to FTP Manual Method

Load your document.

Press the

(Scan) key.

Press Scan to FTP.

Press

to choose <Manual>.

Note

If there is no FTP Profile configured, skip 4 and go to 5.

Press to choose Name for the FTP host address or IP Address for the FTP IP address.

Enter the FTP host address (for example ftp.example.com up to 60 characters) or the IP address (for example 192.23.56.189).

Press OK.

Enter the destination folder (for example /brother/abc/, up to 60 characters).

Press OK.

Enter the username.

Press OK.

Enter the password.

Press OK.

Press

to choose Quality.

Press to choose Color 150 dpi, Color 300 dpi, Color 600 dpi, B/W 200x100 dpi or B/W 200 dpi.

Press

to choose File Type.

Press to choose PDF or JPEG for color or gray scale documents and PDF or TIFF for B/W documents.

Note

If you are using the scanner glass of the machine, choose the document size.

•	Press or to choose Glass Scan Size.
•	Choose the document size you want.

Do one of the following:

•	If you want to start scanning, press Black Start or Color Start and go to 13.
•	If you want to change the file name, go to 14.

Press

to choose File Name.

Press

to choose a file name you want to use. Press Black Start or Color Start and go to 15.

Note

If you want to change the file name manually, go to 14.

Press

to choose <Manual>.

Press OK.

Enter the file name you want to use (up to 15 characters) and press OK. Press Black Start or Color Start and go to 15.

The LCD shows Connecting. When the connection to the FTP server is successful the machine starts the scanning process.

If you are using the scanner glass, the LCD displays Next Page?. Press Yes or No.

Note

If a timeout or any other error occurs, start the Scan to FTP process again from the beginning 1. If the username is entered incorrectly then the LCD will show Authenticate Err, please start the process again from the beginning 1.
