Assign Scan Functions to Device Scan Button 1

Assign one of the following scan functions to image (Button 1) if you want to use image as a shortcut button:
  • Scan to USB
  • Scan to PC
  • WS Scan (ADS-1350W)

Before scanning, install a scanning application (for example, Brother iPrint&Scan), and then configure the scan settings using the application.

Assign using Remote Setup When Your Machine Is Connected via a USB Cable

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Windows

      Launch image (Brother Utilities), and then click the drop-down list and select your model name (if not already selected). Click Tools in the left navigation bar, and then click Remote Setup.

    • Mac

      In the Finder menu bar, click Go>Applications>Brother, select your model name, and then double-click the Brother Remote Setup icon.

      If the Search Devices dialog box appears, select your model name and then click Connect.
  2. Select the Scan Destination menu in the navigation pane, and then select the option you want to assign in the Button 1 field.

    • Select the Automatically switch to "Scan to USB" if a USB flash drive is inserted. checkbox if needed.
    • (ADS-1350W) Select the WS Scan option, and then select the computer name where you want to send the data in the "WS Scan" Destination field.
  3. Click OK to close the Remote Setup window.

Assign using Web Based Management When Your Machine Is Connected via a Network

This feature is available for ADS-1350W.

  1. Start your web browser.
  2. Type "https://machine's IP address" in your browser's address bar (where "machine's IP address" is the machine's IP address).
    For example:

    https://192.168.1.2

  3. If required, type the password in the Login field, and then click Login.

    The default password to manage this machine’s settings is located on the bottom of the machine and marked "Pwd". Change the default password by following the on-screen instructions when you first log in.
  4. In the left navigation bar, click Scan>Scan Destination.

    If the left navigation bar is not visible, start navigating from image.
  5. Select the option you want to assign in the Button 1 field.

    • (ADS-1350W) Select the WS Scan option, and then select the computer name where you want to send the data in the "WS Scan" Destination field.
  6. Click Submit.
