Multiple pages were fed at the same time. Follow the steps below to clear the multifeed.

Remove any paper from the document feeder.

Open the Front Cover by pulling the Cover Release Lever toward you (1).

Pull the document out of the machine.

Close the Front Cover.

Press .

Confirm that the data scanned before the multifeed was detected has been saved, and then start scanning again at the next page or the beginning of the document.

The data scanned before the multifeed occurred is saved if you have selected JPEG as the file type.
CAUTION
Be careful when touching the Separation Pad and its surrounding area in the machine. Otherwise, you could cause injury to yourself and serious damage to the machine.

Remove any paper from the document feeder before closing the Front Cover.

To avoid future multifeeds, do the following:

Uncheck the Multifeed Detection check box when scanning business cards.
•
Check the Plastic Card Mode check box when scanning a plastic card.
•
Check the Carrier Sheet Mode check box when scanning using the Carrier Sheet.
