Send the same fax to multiple fax numbers.(Broadcasting)

Broadcasting is a feature of your Brother machine that allows you to automatically send the same fax message to multiple fax numbers. You can include Groups, One Touch locations, Speed Dial locations, and up to 50 manually dialed numbers in a single broadcast. You cannot Broadcast a fax in color.

Follow the steps below to broadcast a fax:

  1. Place the document you will be faxing on the scanner glass.

If your Brother machine has Automatic document Feeder (ADF), you can also place the document you will be faxing in the ADF.

  2. Press Fax.

  3. Enter a number in the following ways:

    1. Adding manually dialed numbers using the dial pad:
      1. Enter the number using the dial pad.
      2. Press OK.

    2. Adding Speed Dial locations:
      1. Press the Up or Down Arrow key (Phone Book or Address Book).
      2. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to select Search. Press OK.
      3. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to select the number.
      4. Press OK.
      5. Press OK.

    3. Adding One Touch Dial locations (some models only):
If One Touch Dial is available for your Brother machine, you can also add One Touch Dial locations.
      1. Press the One Touch key that stores the number you want to call. To access number 4 to 6, hold down Shift as you press the One Touch key.
      2. Press OK.

  4. Repeat STEP3 until you have entered all the fax numbers to be included in the broadcast.

  5. Press Black Start or Mono Start.

The Brother machine will scan the document into memory and begin sending the information to each fax number you entered.

  • If a particular number is busy, the fax unit will redial the number automatically. If there is no response from a particular number, the fax machine will not redial it.

  • The available memory will vary depending on the types of jobs in the memory and the number of locations used for broadcasting. If you broadcast to the maximum numbers available, you will not be able to use dual access and delayed faxing.

  • If the memory is full, press Stop/Exit to stop the job. If more than one page has been scanned, press Black Start or Mono Start to send the portion that is in the memory.
