Follow the steps below to load documents.

1. Adjust the Document Guides (1) to fit the width of your document.
   

    

2. Prepare documents.

    

   1. Fan the pages several times along both the long edge and the short edge.
      

       

   2. Align the edges of the pages.
      

       

   3. Position the pages so that the leading edges are aligned at a slight angle in the feed direction.

3. Load your document.

    

   1. Place your document face down, top edge first in the document feeder between the Guides until you feel it touch the inside of the machine gently.
      

       

   2. Make sure that the side edges of the document are parallel to the grooves in the Top Cover, and then adjust the Guides to fit the width of the document again.
