I am unable to change my Brother machine's Receive Mode.
If you want to know which Receive Mode to choose, please see the Related FAQ's: "How do I know which receive mode to select?"
If you cannot change the Receive Mode, Distinctive Ring, BT Call Sign or FaxAbility is currently on.
Follow these steps to turn Distinctive Ring, BT Call Sign or FaxAbility off:
- Press the MENU key.
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Fax.
- Press the OK key.
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Miscellaneous.
- Press the OK key.
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Distinctive, Faxability or BT Call Sign.
- Press the OK key.
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Off.
- Press the OK key.
- Press the STOP/EXIT key.
You should now be able to change the Receive Mode by following these steps:
- Press the MENU key.
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Initial Setup.
- Press the OK key.
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Receive Mode.
- Press the OK key.
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Fax Only, Fax/Tel, External TAD, or Manual.
- Press the OK key.
- Press the STOP/EXIT key.
