When receiving a 1 page fax, why does the fax print on 2 pages or a blank sheet ejects afterwards?

Your Paper Size setting and/or the Reduction setting may not be correct for the paper you are using.

Adjust the paper size following the instructions listed below:


  1. Press Menu.
  2. Press the up or down arrow key until General Setup appears on the LCD and press OK.
  3. Press the up or down arrow key until Paper Size appears and press OK.
  4. Press the up or down arrow key to choose Tray#1.
  5. Press OK.
  6. Press the up or down arrow key until the paper size you are using appears and then press OK.
  7. Press Stop/Exit.

To set the paper size for the MP Tray, choose MP Tray in STEP 4.
If you installed the optional tray, choose Tray#2 in STEP 4 to set the paper size for the optional tray.

If you are using the fixed reduction feature, check to see if the reduction ratio is set to ON. (We recommend turning the setting to "Auto Reduction" ON.) 

To check the reduction setting:

  1. If the FAX mode key is not illuminated in blue, press it.
  2. Press Menu.
  3. Press the the up or down arrow key until Fax appears on the LCD and press OK.
  4. Press the up or down arrow key until Setup Receive appears and press OK.
  5. Press the up or down arrow key until Auto Reduction appears and press OK.
  6. Press the up or down arrow key until ON (or OFF) appears and press OK.
  7. Press Stop/Exit.
