OAuth 2.0 Authentication Support Statement
Microsoft is phasing out Basic Authentication for SMTP in Exchange Online to align with modern security standards and provide a more secure email environment. As a result, you may get authentication errors when trying to use the following features:
▪ Scan to Email Server
▪ Internet Fax
▪ Email Reports
▪ Email Notifications
To continue using these features in Microsoft Exchange Online (if your machine supports OAuth 2.0 authentication), you must update the firmware to the version that supports this authentication and configure the OAuth 2.0 authentication settings. Click here to learn how to configure the settings.
Check the “Product Support List” below to see if your machine supports OAuth 2.0 and if the latest firmware is already available or scheduled for release.
▪ If your machine is not listed, it does not support OAuth 2.0. Use an alternative email service (for example, Gmail).
▪ If you see a date against your machine: this is the firmare update release date. Update the firmware when it becomes available and configure the OAuth 2.0 authentication settings.
