Copy on Both Sides of the Paper (1-sided to 2-sided/2-sided to 2-sided)
Reduce the amount of paper you use by copying onto both sides of the paper.
Follow the steps below to use the 2-sided(duplex) copy feature:
We recommend loading single-sided documents in the ADF (automatic document feeder) for 2-sided copying. (ADF models only)
For 2-sided documents use the scanner glass.
You can use only A4, A5, Letter, or Executive* size plain paper.
*: Only available some countries.
Load your document.
Press (Copy).
Enter the number of copies:
Press - or + on the machine's display (hereinafter called LCD).
Press the number of copies to display the keyboard on the LCD, and then enter the number of copies using the LCD. Press OK.
Press Options > Stack/Sort > Sort.
Press the Up or Down arrow key to display 2-sided Copy, and then press it.
Press the option you want.
Review your settings on the LCD, and then press OK.
Press Black (Mono) Start or Color (Colour) Start. If you placed the document in the ADF (ADF models only), the machine scans the pages and starts printing. If you are using the scanner glass, go to the next step.
Place the next page on the scanner glass, and then press Continue.
The machine starts printing.
If you chose the Sort, repeat the previous step for each page. After all the pages have been scanned, press Finish. The machine starts printing.
DO NOT touch the printed page until it is ejected the second time. The machine will print the first side and eject the paper, and then pull the paper in to print the second side.
If you get a paper jam, press Advanced after STEP 5, and then press one of the jam prevention settings: 2-sided 1 or 2-sided 2.
2-sided 1 uses a longer print time for the ink to dry.
2-sided 2 uses a longer print time and will also print in lighter colors.
