I get the "Filter "brlpdwrapper[model name]" for printer "[model name]" not available: No such file or directory" error on Gentoo (Linux)
Make sure you create a symbolic link to the filter file after the driver installation:

Open the /etc/cups/ppd/ directory.

Open the PPD file corresponding to your model.

Confirm that the filter file name in the *cups filter line is corrected and contains your model name.
For example:
cupsFilter: "application/vnd.cups-postscript 0 [filter file name]"

Run the following command to create a symbolic link to the filter:
ln -s /usr/lib/cups/filter/[your model's filter file name] /usr/libexec/cups/filter/[your model's filter file name]
