While writing data to the memory card in the media slot, the status dialog box has not been updated. It appears to have frozen. What's happening?
As long as a progress dialog is displayed on your PC display, your PC and DCP/MFC are processing data. Depending on the size of the file you are transferring, it may take some time before the file is transferred.
While data is being transferred you should see CONNECTING TO PC on the LCD panel of the Brother DCP/MFC machine, at the same time, the LED next to the media slot on the DCP/MFC should flash.
If either of these two things do not happen, this suggests that the DCP or MFC/PC are not communicating with each other.
