You can program your Brother machine to do one type of easy dialing: Speed Dialing. If you lose electrical power, Speed Dial numbers stored in memory will not be lost.

Speed Dial numbers are stored as two-digit locations on the dial pad of your Brother machine. Once you have programmed a number to a Speed Dial location, you can dial the number by pressing a few buttons on the screen (for example: press SpeedDial, the number you want to call and Send a fax.). The Brother machine can store 100 Speed Dial numbers. To store Speed Dial numbers, please follow these steps:

1. Press SpeedDial or .
   
   
2. If Speed Dial numbers have already been stored, press Alphabetical or Numerical.
   (This step might be skipped in some models.)
   
   
3. Press More.
   
   
4. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to display Set Speed Dial.
   (This step might be skipped in some models.)
   
   
5. Press Set Speed Dial.
   
   
6. Do one of the following:
   
   
   • Enter the name (up to 16 characters) by pressing the buttons on the screen. Press OK.
     
     
   • To store the number without a name, press OK.
   
   
   
7. Enter the first fax or telephone number ( or Fax / Tel1:) by pressing the buttons on the screen (up to 20 digits). Press OK.
   
   
8. Do one of the following:
   
   
   • Enter the second fax or telephone number ( or Fax / Tel2:) by pressing the buttons on the screen (up to 20 digits). Press OK.
     
     
   • If you do not want to store a second number, press OK.
   
   
   
9. To choose where the number will be stored, do one of the following:
   
   
   • To accept the displayed next available Speed Dial location, press OK.
     
     
   • To enter a different Speed Dial location, press and 2-digit number using the buttons on the screen. Press OK.
   
   

   If the 2-digit Speed Dial location you choose is already taken, the OK button on the screen will not work. Choose a different location.

   
   
10. When the screen displays your settings, press OK to confirm.
    
    
11. Do one of the following:
    
    
    • To store another Speed Dial number, repeat step2 to step11.
      
      
    • To finish storing numbers, press Stop/Exit.
