Broadcasting is automatically sending the same fax message to multiple fax numbers. You can include Groups, One-Touch numbers, Speed Dial numbers, and up to 50 manually dialed numbers in a single Broadcast.

To Broadcast a fax, follow these instructions:

1. Press FAX to illuminate it.
    
2. Place the document(s) you will be faxing face up in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).
   
   - After you put your document(s) in the ADF, the Brother machine's LCD should display ADF Ready for a few seconds and then display the fax-sending options.
   
   
3. Enter the fax numbers you want to Broadcast to.
   

   You can enter fax numbers in the following ways:

    

   - If you are entering a One-Touch number or if you have stored a Group on a One-Touch location and wish to include it in the Broadcast, follow these steps:

    

   1. Press the One Touch key that you want to include.
       
   2. Press OK.

    

   The Brother machine's LCD will alternate between displaying Enter Fax No. and Press Start.

    
   3. Go to STEP4.

    

   - If you are entering a Speed Dial number or if you have stored a Group on a Speed Dial location and wish to include it in the Broadcast, follow these steps:

    

   1. Press the Up arrow key (Address Book).
       
   2. Enter the three-digit Speed Dial location that you want to include.
       
   3. Press OK.

    

   The Brother machine's LCD will alternate between displaying Enter Fax No. and Press Start.

    
   4. Go to STEP4.

    

   - If you are manually dialing the number, follow these steps:

    

   1. Enter the number using the dial pad.
      

      - Be sure to include 1 plus the area code and/or a pause if needed.

       

      - To enter a 3.5-second (for UK: 2.8-second) pause in the dialing sequence, press Redial/Pause.

       

      You can press Redial/Pause as many times as needed to increase the length of the pause.

       

   2. Press OK.
       
   3. Go to STEP4.

    

4. Do one of the following:
   

   - If you want to add another number to the Broadcast, repeat STEP3.

    

   - If you have entered all the numbers you want to Broadcast to, go to STEP5.

    

5. Press Start on the Brother machine.
   Your Brother machine will scan the document(s) into memory and begin sending the fax to each number you entered.

After the Broadcast is complete, your Brother machine will automatically print a Broadcast Report. This report will list each number that was dialed, the date and duration of the fax transmission, the number of pages sent, and whether or not the fax transmission was successful.

CANCELING A BROADCAST IN PROGRESS

To cancel a Broadcast in progress, follow these steps:

1. Press Menu.
    
2. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Fax.
    
3. Press OK.
   The LCD will display the Broadcast job number followed by the fax number or name being dialed (for example, #001 0123456789) and the broadcast job number (for example, Broadcast#001).
    
4. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose one of the following:

    

   • Choose the fax number being dialed, and press OK.
   • Choose the broadcast job number, and press OK.

    

5. Press 1 to cancel the fax number or Broadcast job number you chose in STEP 4, or press 2 to exit without canceling.
   If you chose to only cancel the fax currently being sent in STEP 4, the LCD will ask you if you want to cancel the broadcast job. Press 1 to clear the whole broadcast job or 2 to exit.
    
6. Press Stop/Exit.
