The PC fax receive feature lets you automatically send your received faxes to your PC. You can then use your PC to view and store these faxes. If your PC is off when faxes are received, your MFC will store them in memory until your PC is turned on again. If you choose Backup Print On, the MFC will also print the fax.
For PC fax receive to work you must be connected to a PC that has the MFL-Pro Suite software installed. (See PC-FAX receiving in Chapter 6 in the Software User’s Guide on the CD-ROM.)

Note
| If your machine has a problem and is unable to print faxes in memory, you can use this setting to transfer your faxes to a PC. (For details, see Error and maintenance messages.) If you choose Backup Print On, the machine will also print the faxes at your machine so you will have a copy. This is a safety feature in case there is a power failure before the faxes are forwarded or a problem at the receiving machine. The machine can store faxes up to 4 days if there is a power failure. |
