Manual mode turns off all automatic answering functions unless you are using the BT Call Sign feature or an external telephone answering device (TAD).
To receive a fax in manual mode, press Speaker Phone or lift the handset of the machine or an external telephone. When you hear fax tones (short repeating beeps), press Mono Start or Colour Start and then Receive. You can also use the Fax Detect feature to receive faxes by lifting a handset on the same line as the machine.
