5 Wireless Configuration for Macintosh using the Brother installer application (Not available for MFC-5490CN and MFC-5890CN)

IMPORTANT

•	The following instructions will install your Brother machine in a network environment using the Brother installer application for Macintosh found on the CD-ROM we have provided with the machine.
•	You can also setup your Brother machine using the machine’s control panel which we recommend. You can find instructions in the supplied Quick Setup Guide or see Configuring your machine for a wireless network (Not available for MFC-5490CN and MFC-5890CN).
•	If you are going to connect your Brother machine to your network, we recommend that you contact your system administrator prior to installation. You must know your wireless network settings before you proceed with this installation.

Configuration in Infrastructure mode

Before configuring the wireless settings

IMPORTANT

•

If you have previously configured the wireless settings of the machine, you must reset the network LAN settings before you can configure the wireless settings again. Use Menu,

to choose Network, press OK. Press

to choose Factory Reset, press OK. Choose Yes to accept the change. For Touchscreen models, press MENU, Network,

to display Factory Reset then press Factory Reset, and choose Yes to accept the change. The machine will restart automatically.

•

You need to temporarily use an Ethernet cable during configuration.
