Pull the paper trays completely out of the machine.

(MFC-5890CN and MFC-5895CW)
Unplug the machine from the electrical socket and open the Jam Clear Cover (1) at the back of the machine.

(MFC-6490CW)
Unplug the machine from the electrical socket and open the Outer Rear Cover (1) and Inner Rear Cover (2) from the back of the machine.

Clean the Paper Pick-up Roller (1) with isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab.

(MFC-5890CN and MFC-5895CW)
Close the Jam Clear Cover properly.

(MFC-6490CW)
Close the Inner Rear Cover and the Outer Rear Cover.

Make sure the cover is closed correctly.

Put the paper trays firmly back in the machine.

Re-connect the power cord.
