Document jams
If the document is jammed, follow the steps below.
IMPORTANT
After removing a jammed document, check that no paper scraps are left in the machine that could cause another jam.
Document is jammed in the top of the ADF unit

Take out any paper from the ADF that is not jammed.

Open the ADF cover.

Pull the jammed document out to the right.
4
Close the ADF cover.

Press
Stop/Exit

Take out any paper from the ADF that is not jammed.

Lift the document cover.
3
Pull the jammed document out to the left.
4
Close the document cover.

Press
Stop/Exit

Document is jammed at the ADF output tray

Take out any paper from the ADF that is not jammed.
2
Pull the jammed document out to the right.

Press
Stop/Exit

Document is jammed in the duplex slot (MFC-8380DN)
1
Take out any paper from the ADF that is not jammed.
2
Do one of the following:
•
If you can see the jammed document, pull the jammed document out to the right.
•
If you cannot see the jammed document, open the ADF cover (1) and (2) and pull the jammed document out to the top.
Close the ADF cover (1) and (2).
