Hooping the Fabric in the Embroidery Frame

CAUTION
  • Use fabrics with a thickness of less than 2 mm (approx. 1/16 inch). Using fabrics thicker than 2 mm (approx. 1/16 inch) may cause the needle to break, possibly resulting in injury.
  • Always use a stabilizer material for embroidery when embroidering. Otherwise, the needle may break and cause injury especially when embroidering stretch fabrics, lightweight fabrics, fabrics with a coarse weave, or fabrics which cause pattern shrinkage.
  • When storing the frame, place fabric between the base and upper frames. If the upper frame is attached directly to the base frame, it will be difficult to detach.
  • Before using the embroidery frame, check that there are no items (metal object such as needles and pins) stuck to the frames. If any items are stuck to the surface, they may affect the embroidering quality or damage the main unit of the machine.
  • Do not use stiff or elastic material or thick jackets, etc. Otherwise, the upper frame may not attach to the base frame or may come off the base frame, or the material may become caught on the presser foot, preventing proper embroidering.
  • Use fabric with a thickness no more than 2 mm (approx. 1/16 inch). When embroidering specially processed fabrics, such as those with a non-slip lining, embroidering may not be possible even if the fabric thickness is less than 2 mm (approx. 1/16 inch).
  • When embroidering on cylindrical items with a small opening, use “Trial run” to check that the frame moves without getting caught (Attaching the Embroidery Frame). Otherwise, the frame may get caught during embroidering.
