Finishing the Appliqué with the Embroidery Machine

  • For details on the appliqué process, refer to “Embroidering the Appliqué Patterns” in the Operation Manual for the embroidery machine.
  1. Touch [Embroidery].

    • The embroidering screen appears.
      • Before beginning to embroider, check the embroidering order to confirm that appliqué pieces are sewn in appropriate sequence.
      • Some embroidery pattern may sew hidden stitches on the appliqué material. Check the embroidery order before starting embroidering and rearrange it so that the hidden stitches will be sewn under the appliqué material. For details on how to change the embroidering order, refer to the FAQ on the Brother support website (https://s.brother/cfdkb/).
      • If the appliqué piece has been cut out with a cutting machine, [APPLIQUE MATERIAL] does not need to be sewn.
      • If appropriate sequence for appliqué pieces is not displayed, (forward/back key) may help to move the needle forward or back in the pattern.
(Embroidering order key) in the editing window may help to change the embroidering order. Ungroup the pattern to change the embroidering order, if necessary.
  2. Sew the appliqué position on the base fabric.

  3. Affix the appliqué piece aligned with the appliqué position stitching.

If double-sided stabilizer material is attached to the fabric, affix it with an iron.
Otherwise, affix the appliqué piece with craft glue or attach it with basting stitching.

  4. Embroider the appliqué.

  5. Finish embroidering the remainder of the embroidery pattern.
