Connect the Printer to a Computer Using RS-232C

Connection using RS-232C requires the use of a dedicated conversion cable (PA-SCA-002).

  1. Start the Printer Setting Tool.

    Click Start>Brother>Printer Setting Tool.

  2. Click P-touch Template Settings>Communication Settings.
  3. Set parameters in the Communication Settings window as follows:
    Baud rate
    From 4800 bps to 115200 bps
    Bit Length
    7 bits or 8 bits
    Parity
    None, Odd, or Even
    Busy Control
    DTR or XON/XOFF
    image
    Other settings, such as the baud rate, must be changed in order to use a RS-232C connection. The settings for this printer's serial port are shown in the table above.
  4. Click the Set button to save the parameters.
