How do I change the sleep time setting?

The Sleep Time setting can reduce power consumption by turning off the fuser while the machine is idle.
You can choose how long the machine must be idle before it goes into sleep mode. When the machine receives a computer data, fax (if applicable) or makes a copy, the timer will be reset.
While the machine is in sleep mode the LCD will display Sleep. When printing or copying in sleep mode, there will be a short delay while the fuser warms up.

To adjust the Sleep Time setting, follow the steps listed below:

  1. Press Menu and select General Setup => Ecology => Sleep Time.

  2. Use the dial pad to enter the length of time the Brother machine is idle before entering Sleep Mode. For example, enter 05 for 5 minutes of idle time.

  3. Press OK.

  4. Press Stop/Exit.
