How do I send the same fax to multiple fax numbers? (Broadcasting)

Broadcasting is a feature of your Brother machine that allows you to automatically send the same fax message to multiple fax numbers. You can include Groups, Speed Dial locations in a single broadcast. You cannot Broadcast a fax in color.


To broadcast a fax, please follow these instructions:



  1. Press image (FAX).

  2. Do one of the following:

    • To use the ADF (automatic document feeder), place your document face up, top edge first in the ADF.

    • To use the scanner glass, place the document face down in the upper left hand corner of the scanner glass. Use the document guidelines on the left and top of the scanner glass.


  3. Press Options.

  4. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to display Broadcasting.

  5. Press Broadcasting.

  6. Press Add number from SpeedDial.

  7. Press image to search by Alphabetical Order or Numerical Order. Press the check boxes of the numbers you want to add to the broadcast. After you have checked all the numbers you want, press OK.

  8. Press OK.

  9. Press Black (Mono) Start.

    • Faxing from the ADF

      • The machine starts scanning and sending the document.


    • Faxing from the scanner glass

      When the LCD asks you Next Page?, do one of the following:

      • To send a single page, press No(Send) ( or press Black (Mono) Start again). The machine starts sending the document.

      • To send more than one page, press Yes and place the next page on the scanner glass. Press OK. The machine starts scanning the page. (Repeat this step for each additional page.)


  • If a particular number is busy, the fax unit will redial the number automatically. If there is no response from a particular number, the fax machine will not redial it.

  • The available memory will vary depending on the type of jobs in the memory and the number of locations used for broadcasting. If you broadcast to the maximum numbers available, you will not be able to use dual access and delayed faxing.

  • If the memory is full, press Stop/Exit to stop the job. If more than one page has been scanned, press Black (Mono) Start to send the portion that is in the memory.
