Reduce the size of a received fax to fit the size of the paper in the Brother machine.

  • Turning on Auto Reduction will automatically reduce the size of an incoming fax to fit the size of the paper in your machine. To set Auto Reduction mode ON, follow the instructions listed below:

    1. Press image.

    2. Press All Settings.

    3. Swipe up or down, or press the Up or Down arrow key to display Fax.

    4. Press Fax.

    5. Swipe up or down, or press the Up or Down arrow key to display Setup Recieve.

    6. Press Setup Receive.

    7. Swipe up or down, or press the Up or Down arrow key to display Auto Reduction.

    8. Press Auto Reduction.

    9. Press On (or Off).

    10. Press image.


  • The machine calculates the reduction ratio by using the page size of the fax and the Paper Size setting.
    Verify the Paper Size is set correctly by follow the instructions listed below:

    1. Press image.

    2. Press the displayed paper size for Tray#1 or Tray#2.

    3. Press Paper Size.

    4. Swipe up or down, or press Up or Down arrow key to display the paper size options, and press the correct size.

    5. Press image.
