My Brother machine has no power.

The Brother machine has an ON/OFF switch located on the right or left side of the machine. Verify the machine is powered ON.

If the power switch is ON, verify the plug is connected into the power outlet and securely into the rear of the machine. If the power cord is connected to a surge protector or power strip, disconnect the cord from that device and connect it directly to the outlet. Removing the device assists in determining if the issue is related to the device or the Brother machine.

To protect your investment against power surges and lightning, Brother strongly recommends that you connect your machine to a surge protector. In particular we suggest that you use a surge protector that is compatible with both standard A.C. power cords and telephone line cords. Surge protectors equipped with telephone jacks will assist in insulating your machine from any power surge that might travel through a telephone line.

If the unit still has no power, test the electrical outlet with another device (a working lamp, radio etc.). If that device does not work, the problem is related to the outlet or circuit. You may also need to check for tripped circuit breaker. If a wall switch controls the outlet, verify that the switch is ON. Another option would be to connect the Brother machine to a known working outlet (tested with a working lamp, radio, etc).

If the problem continues after connecting the Brother machine to a known working outlet, your machine may require service. Please contact the Customer Service Center.
