Scan using XSane or GIMP (Linux)

1. Scan using XSane

  • Make sure you have installed the scanner driver (brscan4 or brscan5).
  • Make sure you have installed XSane from your distribution's repository.
  1. Start XSane:
    • Click XSane in the application menu.
    • Enter xsane in the terminal.
  2. The XSane dialog box appears. Select the settings you want, and then click Scan.

 

2. Scan using GIMP

  • Make sure you have installed the scanner driver (brscan4 or brscan5).
  • Make sure you have installed GIMP and XSane from your distribution’s repository.
  1. Start GIMP.
  2. In the File menu, click Create > XSane > scanner name.
  3. The XSane dialog box appears. Select the settings you want, and then click Scan.
