Printing is not possible.

If the printing is not possible, check the following:


Does the BPM (Brother Printer Management Tool) show "Head Open"?
Close the Media Compartment Cover.


Does the BPM show "Out of Paper"?

Insert the new media roll correctly into the Media Compartment.

Calibrate the Media Sensor (Gap Sensor (*1) / Black Mark Sensor) when changing media. For details of how to calibrate, see the FAQ: "How to calibrate the Gap/Black Mark Sensor by directly operating the printer".

Does the BPM show "Paper Jam"?

Is the LED Indicator not lit?

  • Clean the battery metal contacts.
  • Reinstall the battery.
  • Turn on the printer.
  • Charge the battery.
