Can I reduce printing noise of my Brother machine?

Yes. Printing noise may be reduced by using Quiet Mode.

Before using Quiet Mode, you need to update the firmware version to the latest one.
Follow the steps below to activate Quiet Mode.

  1. Check the firmware version of your Brother machine. Click here to see how to check the firmware version.
     
  2. Click here to visit the Downloads section to check the latest version of the firmware.

     

    • If your Brother machine already has the latest version, go to Step 3.
       
    • If the firmware version of your Brother machine is earlier than the latest version, update the firmware.

     

  3. Turn on Quiet Mode.
    1. Press Settings Settings .
       
    2. Press All Settings. (This step might be skipped in some models.)
       
    3. Press General Setup.
       
    4. Press the Up or Down arrow to choose Quiet Mode.
       
    5. Press On.
      This setting is available for A4 and letter size plain paper.
      When Quiet Mode is On, print speed becomes slower.
