When do I need to upgrade the printer memory?

Generally speaking, the amount of memory supplied with the printer is adequate for most types of printing. However, there may be instances where the provided memory is not enough to print. In this instance (before you consider upgrading the printer memory) try the following:

  • If you are trying to print a scanned image, try reducing the resolution of the image. For example, if you scanned the document in at 600 dpi, try reducing it down to 300 dpi. If you scanned the image at 300 dpi, try reducing the resolution of the image down to 200 dpi, etc..
  • If you do not wish to reduce the resolution of the scanned image, try reducing the physical size of the image.
  • Try reducing the print resolution within the printer driver. For example, if you are printing in the highest possible print resolution, select a lower print resolution.

If none of the above steps resolve your problem, then we recommend that you upgrade the memory of your printer. To see how to install the additional memory, click here.
