When using Web Connect I receive an error message: Connection Error 01 -Unexpected Error Occurred. Start Over Again.

This error typically occurs if you have enabled the Proxy Settings but your network does not require it for connection. To resolve this error, disable the Proxy Settings.


This error can also occur if the Proxy Settings are required, but entered incorrectly. Verify your Proxy Settings.

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

  1. Press Menu.

  2. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Network.

  3. Press OK.

  4. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Web Connect Settings.

  5. Press OK.

  6. Choose Proxy Settings and press OK.

  7. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Proxy Connection.

  8. Press OK.

  9. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose On.

  10. Press OK.

  11. Press Stop/Exit.

  12. If the issue still continues, contact Brother Customer Service from "Contact Us".
