"Scanning error occurred. Turn the machine off." message appearing on the LCD.

Turn the machine off, then on again, and then try performing the operation again.

 

Perform the necessary operation according to the instructions or the solution described.
If the problem persists, contact the Brother customer service or the nearest authorized service center.
