How can I scan and save documents to the Android™ mobile devices using my Brother machine?

Follow the instructions below to scan and save documents to the Android™ mobile devices using your Brother machine.
 

  1. Connect the Brother machine to your mobile device with a USB cable.

  2. Make sure the Error Indicator LED and Scan to USB key LED are NOT blinking.
     

    If the following LEDs blink, this is an "Unsupported Device" indication.

    Your Android™ mobile device is not supported. This feature can be used only with mobile devices that use the USB mass storage standard. Also, the Brother machine does not support charging any USB devices.

     
  3. Connect the USB cable to the USB port marked with a  symbol symbol on your Brother machine. Then, connect the cable to your computer.

  4. Next, open the ControlCenter.
    • ControlCenter4: Brother Utilities supported models
      1. Open Brother Utilities.
        • Windows 7 / 10
          Click Start or Start(Start) > (All Programs or All apps >) Brother > Brother Utilities.
        • Windows 8
          On the Start screen, click Start.
          If  is not  on the Start screen, right-click somewhere on an empty spot, and then click, All Apps from the bar.
          Click Brother Utilities.
      2. Select Scan.
      3. Click ControlCenter4.
    • ControlCenter4: Brother Utilities unsupported models
      Click Start(Start) > All Programs > Brother > [model name] > ControlCenter4.
       
    • ControlCenter2
      To open the ControlCenter2 application, click Go from the Finder bar, Applications > Brother > ControlCenter. Double click the ControlCenter.
      The ControlCenter will open and an icon will be placed in the dock.

For Windows

 

  1. Click the Device Settings tab and click the Remote Setup button. The Remote Setup window will appear. (The image below is using Home Mode).

  2. Select Scan to USB in the folder tree.
    Select Color from the ScanType drop down list.
    Select PDF from the File Type(Color) drop down list.
    Click Apply > OK.

  3. Load your document into the Brother machine.
     
  4. Press Scan to USB on the control panel of your Brother machine. The machine will start scanning and then the scanned data will be saved on the mobile device.

DO NOT remove the mobile device while the Scan to USB key is blinking to avoid damaging the drive or the data stored on it.

 

 

 

For Macintosh

 

  1. Click the Device Settings tab and click the Remote Setup button. The Remote Setup window will appear.

    Click Apply > OK.

  3. Load your document into the Brother machine.
