Easy Receive is a feature that allows your Brother machine to receive a fax even if you answer it by lifting the handset of an external telephone that is connected to the Brother machine's EXT jack or the handset of an extension telephone that is on the same line as the Brother machine.

• If Easy Receive is On, the machine will automatically receive a fax, even if you answer it by lifting the handset of an external telephone that is connected to the Brother machine's EXT jack or an extension telephone that is on the same line as the Brother machine.
  After lifting the telephone's handset, wait until the Brother machine's display (hereinafter called LCD) reads Receiving or you hear a clicking sound over the phone, and then hang up.  The machine will do the rest.
   
• If Easy Receive is Off and you answer an incoming fax by lifting the handset of an external telephone that is connected to the Brother machine's EXT jack, press Fax Start on the Brother machine, and then press Receive on the Brother machine to receive the fax.
   
• If Easy Receive is Off and you answer an incoming fax by lifting the handset of an extension telephone that shares the line with the Brother machine, press * 5 1 on the telephone to receive the fax.

To change your Brother machine's Easy Receive setting, follow these steps:
 

1. Press (Settings).
2. Press the Up or Down arrow key to display Fax.
3. Press Fax.
4. Press the Up or Down arrow key to display Setup Receive.
5. Press Setup Receive.
6. Press the Up or Down arrow key to display Easy Receive.
7. Press Easy Receive.
8. Press On or Off.
9. Press (Home).
