Follow the procedure below to specify key display optimization for the first time or to change the optimization settings specified on the machine.

1. Touch  , then  .
   The general settings screen appears.
    
2. Locate [Key Optimization Mode] in the Settings pages.
    
3. Touch  .
   
   
    
4. Confirm the information in the message that appears, and then touch  .
    
5. In the pattern type selection screen, touch the keys not to be available.
   • The keys in the red box can be set to not be available.
     The selected key changes to gray, and the prohibition symbol appears in the upper-left corner of the key.
     
     (1) Red box
     
     (2) Symbol indicating key that is not available
      
   • Touch a gray key to make it available again.
6. Touch  to continue to the pattern editing screen.
   
   
   (1) Cancel the optimization settings.
   (2) Return to the previous screen of settings. (Not available while specifying settings on screen 1/4.)
   (3) Continue to the next screen of settings. (Not available while specifying settings on screen 4/4.)
   (4) Return the keys in this screen to their original settings.
    
7. In the pattern editing screen, touch the keys not to be available.
   The selected key changes to gray, and the prohibition symbol appears in the upper-left corner of the key.
   
8. Touch  to continue to the embroidering settings screen.
   * For details on the keys, refer to step 6.
    
9. In the embroidering settings screen, touch the keys not to be available.
   The selected key changes to gray, and the prohibition symbol appears in the upper-left corner of the key.
   
    
10. Touch  to continue to keys used when retrieving embroidery patterns.
    * For details on the keys, refer to step 6.
     
11. Of  (delete pattern) and  (save pattern in other storage destination), touch the keys not to be available when retrieving an embroidery pattern.
    The selected key changes to gray, and the prohibition symbol appears in the upper-left corner of the key.
    • The key settings specified here are applied when retrieving patterns in the following situations.
      - When retrieving from the machine’s memory
      - When retrieving from USB media
      - When retrieving from a computer
      - When retrieving via a wireless network connection
12. After all key display optimization settings have been specified, touch  .
    * For details on the keys, refer to step 6.
    
    The key display optimization settings are specified on the machine.
    • To save these settings on USB media, continue with step 13.
    • If the settings will not be saved on USB media, touch  , and then continue to step 15.
13. Insert USB media into USB port 1 or USB port 2.
     
14. Touch the key for the USB port used in step 13.
    The key display optimization settings are saved in a folder labeled “bPocket” on the USB media. Touch  .
    
15. Touch  .
    The screens will appear with the specified key display optimization.
