Can I set my Brother machine to forward the faxes I receive to another location?
You can use your Brother machine's Fax Forwarding feature to forward the faxes you receive to another location. When you enable Fax Forwarding, every fax you receive is stored in your Brother machine's memory in addition to being forwarded.
To set up your Brother machine's Fax Forwarding feature, please follow these steps:
- Press Menu.
- Press the up or down arrow key to select Fax, and press OK.
- - For MFC model users :
Press the up or down arrow key to select Advanced Fax Operations and press OK.- For FAX model users :
Press the up or down arrow key to select Remote Fax Opt and press OK. - Press the up or down arrow key to select Fwd/Page/Store (Forward/Store) and press OK.
- Press the up or down arrow key to select Fax Forward and press OK.
- Enter the fax number you want your faxes to be forwarded to (up to 20 digits) and press OK.
- Press the up or down arrow key to select Backup Print: On or Backup Print: Off.
If you turn the Backup Print feature on, your Brother machine will also print the fax at you machine so you will have a copy. This is a safety feature in case there is a power failure before the fax is forwarded or a problem at the receiving machine.
- Press OK.
- Press Stop/Exit.
If Fax Forwarding is turned on, your Brother machine will only receive black & white faxes into memory. You will not be able to receive a color fax unless the sending machine converts it to black & white.
