When receiving a single page fax, why does the fax print on two pages or a blank sheet ejects afterwards?

If the received data is divided and printed on two pages or if you get an additional blank page, your Paper Size setting and/or the Reduction setting may not be correct for the paper you are using.

 

Adjust the paper size following the instructions listed below:

*If your Brother machine has a touchscreen, please follow the steps under "For Touchscreen models" below.

  1. Press the Menu key.
  2. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to choose General Setup and press OK.
  3. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to choose Paper Size.
  4. Press the Right or Left Arrow key to select the correct size and press OK.
  5. Press Stop/Exit.
<For Touchscreen models>
  1. Press Menu.
  2. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to display General Setup.
  3. Press General Setup.
  4. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to display Paper Size.
  5. Press Paper Size.
  6. Press the option you want.
  7. Press Stop/Exit.


If you are using the fixed reduction feature, check to see if the reduction ratio is set to ON. (We recommend turning the setting to "AUTO REDUCTION" ON.)

To check the reduction setting:

*If your Brother machine has a touchscreen, please follow the steps under "For Touchscreen models" below.

  1. Press the Menu key.
  2. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to choose Fax and press OK.
  3. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to choose Setup Receive and press OK.
  4. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to choose Auto Reduction.
  5. Press the Right or Left Arrow key to choose ON (or OFF) and press OK.
  6. Press Stop/Exit.

<For Touchscreen models>
  1. Press Menu.
  2. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to display Fax.
  3. Press Fax.
  4. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to display Setup Receice.
  5. Press Setup Receive.
  6. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to display Auto Reduction.
  7. Press On (or Off).
  8. Press Stop/Exit.
