I'm using Mac OS® 9. I get an Error message of Type 1,010 when I am trying to scan into my Macintosh®. What can I do?

If you are receiving the error message, Type -1,010, when trying to access the scanner please verify that the ColorSync extensions and control panel are active on the computer. To do this open the Extensions Manager and select the ColorSync Files to activate them:

  1. Click on the Apple Menu.

  2. Select Control Panels.

  3. Select Extensions Manager.

Be sure that you place a check next to all the ColorSync related files and then restart the computer. You may also want to update the ColorSync to the current version. This is available as a free download from the Apple Computer, Inc. download site.
