Print both sides of paper manually (Manual Duplex Printing for Macintosh)
Refer to the instructions below:
Manual duplex printing from the paper tray
- Set paper into the paper tray. Check the side to be printed on first are faced down and the leading edge (top) of the paper is at the front of the paper tray.
If letterhead paper is used, put the paper in the paper tray with the heading face up at the front of the paper tray. And then, check the blank pages are put face down.
- Open Print dialog. (Click here to see the details of how to open Print dialog.)
- Choose the settings as follows:
[For Mac OS X 10.3.9 or 10.4.x users]
- Choose the "Paper Handling" option from the pop-up menu under the Presets.
- Choose "Even numbered pages" and click Print to print the even-numbered page(s) automatically.
[For Mac OS X 10.5.x or later users]- Choose the "Paper Handling" option from the print options pop-up menu.
- Choose the "Even Only" option in the Pages to Print and click Print to print the even-numbered page(s) automatically.
- Choose the "Paper Handling" option from the pop-up menu under the Presets.
- Remove the printed all even-numbered pages from the output tray and empty the paper tray to avoid the misfeed.
- Set the one side printed pages into the paper tray with the side to be printed on (blank side) face down. Check the printed pages are faced up and the leading edge (top) is on the front side of the paper tray. Do not add the printed pages to the top of a stack of unprinted paper.
If letterhead paper is used, put the paper in the paper tray with the heading face down at the front of the paper tray. And then, check the printed pages are put face up.
- Again Choose the settings as follows:
[For Mac OS X 10.3.9 or 10.4.x users]
- Choose the "Paper Handling" option from the pop-up menu under the Presets.
- Choose "Odd numbered pages" and click Print to print the odd-numbered page(s) automatically.
[For Mac OS X 10.5.x or later users]- Choose the "Paper Handling" option from the print options pop-up menu.
- Choose the "Odd Only" option in the Pages to Print and click Print to print the odd-numbered page(s) automatically.
- Choose the "Paper Handling" option from the pop-up menu under the Presets.
Manual duplex printing from the manual feed slot
- Open the manual feed slot cover.
- Using both hands, slide the manual feed slot paper guides to the width of the paper that you are going to use.
- Using both hands put the paper in the manual feed slot until the front edge of the paper touches the paper feed roller. Check the side to be printed on first is faced up and the leading edge (top) of the paper is put in first.
If letterhead paper is used, put the paper in the manual feed slot with the heading face down in first. And then, check the blank page is put face up.
- Open Print dialog. (Click here to see the details of how to open Print dialog.)
- Choose the settings as follows:
[For Mac OS X 10.3.9 or 10.4.x users]
- Choose the "Paper Handling" option from the pop-up menu under the Presets.
- Choose "Even numbered pages" and click Print to print the even-numbered page.
[For Mac OS X 10.5.x or later users]- Choose the "Paper Handling" option from the print options pop-up menu.
- Choose the "Even Only" option in the Pages to Print and click Print to print the even-numbered page.
- Choose the "Paper Handling" option from the pop-up menu under the Presets.
- Repeat the step 3 - 5 until you have printed all the even-numbered pages.
- Remove the printed even-numbered pages from the output tray.
- Take the first page and, in the same order, put the paper back with the side to be printed on (blank side) face up in the manual feed slot until the front edge of the paper touches the paper feed roller. Check the printed page is faced down and put the leading edge (top) is inserted into the manual feed first.
If letterhead paper is used, put the paper in the manual feed slot with the heading face up in first. And then, check the printed page is put face down.
- Again Choose the settings as follows:
[For Mac OS X 10.3.9 or 10.4.x users]
- Choose the "Paper Handling" option from the pop-up menu under the Presets.
- Choose "Odd numbered pages" and click Print to print the even-numbered page.
[For Mac OS X 10.5.x or later users]- Choose the "Paper Handling" option from the print options pop-up menu.
- Choose the "Odd Only" option in the Pages to Print and click Print to print the even-numbered page.
- Choose the "Paper Handling" option from the pop-up menu under the Presets.
- Repeat the step 8 - 9 until you have printed all the odd-numbered pages.
