Set up your Brother machine on a wireless network
1. Set up your Brother machine (if you haven't set it up yet).

Connect the power cable. (If the cable is already plugged in, unplug it, and then plug it back in.)

The machine powers on automatically.

When the Power LED starts flashing slowly, press and hold the Black Copy (Mono Copy) button for three seconds.
Confirm that the Power LED is lit and the Ink LED is flashing, and then proceed to the next step.
- Load plain A4/Letter paper in the paper tray (if you haven't loaded it yet).

Fill the ink tanks with the inbox ink.

Start the initial cleaning.
Press and hold the Color Copy (Colour Copy) button for three seconds to start the initial ink system cleaning.
This can take a few minutes.
When the initial ink system cleaning has finished, the machine prints the Print Quality Check Sheet.

Check the print quality.
Check the Print Quality Check Sheet. To improve the print quality, clean the print head. For more information, see the Reference Guide.

If there are no problems with the print quality, your machine's initial setup is complete.
2. Set up your Brother machine on a wireless network.
If your wireless access point/router supports WPS (Push Button Configuration), you can use WPS from your machine's control panel to configure your wireless network settings.

Press the Wi-Fi button three times. The Wi-Fi LED starts flashing.
- Press the WPS button on your wireless access point/router.
If your machine is connected successfully, the Power LED and Wi-Fi LED are lit.
Wireless setup is now complete.
3. Install your Brother machine's software.
Visit Setup.brother.com from your computer or mobile device to install the software.
Make sure your machine and mobile device or computer are connected to the same network.
