Description

Malicious files may be downloaded to your Linux computer when using the Driver Install Tool v.2.2.2-2 or earlier to install your Brother machine’s printer or scanner drivers. The drivers installed using the Driver Install Tool depend on your Brother machine’s functions, such as printing or scanning.
 

If you have already installed the printer or scanner drivers on your computer (either manually or using the Driver Install Tool), you can use your Brother machine safely.

Workaround

Use your Brother machine and Linux computer on a network connected to the Internet either via a firewall or a router/access point.

Solution

Use the Driver Install Tool to v.2.2.3-1 or later.

Download and install the latest version of the Driver Install Tool.
