Can I change the amount of time my Brother machine stays in each mode?

Your Brother machine has four temporary Mode keys on its control panel: Fax, Copy, Scan, and Photo Capture. By default, the Brother machine will return to Fax Mode two minutes after the last Scan, Copy, or Photo Capture operation. You can change the amount of time your Brother machine takes after the last Copy, Scan, or Photo Capture operation before it returns to Fax Mode. If you choose Off, the machine stays in the mode you used last.

  1. Press MENU.
  2. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to display General Setup.
  3. Press  General Setup.
  4. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to display Mode Timer.
  5. Press Mode Timer.
  6. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to display 0Sec, 30Secs, 1Min, 2Mins, 5Mins or Off, and then press the option you want to set.

If you select Off, then your Brother machine stays in the mode you used last.

  1. Press Stop/Exit.
