I'm using Fedora 28 or later. I cannot scan from my Brother Machine or it says that it cannot find the Brother Machine. (Linux)
Install "libnsl".
In case of Fedora 28
Command: sudo dnf install libnsl-2.27-8.fc28.x86_64
In case of Fedora 29 or Later
Command: sudo dnf install libnsl
