How can I eliminate the 25mm piece of tape that is produced prior to every label printed?

Due to the construction of the tape mechanism, the 25mm piece of tape that is produced prior to every label cannot be eliminated. However, the subsequent labels can be printed without the excess tape by using "Chain Printing":

  1. Click on "File" and select "Print" to open the Print dialog box.
  2. Check the box for "Chain Printing" and then print a label. After printing the label, the tape is not cut and stays inside the machine.
  3. Print the next label. Auto Cut / Half Cut is applied between the first label and the second label.
  4. After all the labels you require have been printed, press the Feed/Cut button on the front panel of the P-touch to eject and cut the last label.

Other useful methods for reducing tape use:

  • Setting the Print Option to print multiple copies of the same label.
  • Using the Numbering function to print a set of sequentially numbered labels.
  • Minimizing the tape margin.
