I cannot scan via USB. (macOS)

Follow the steps listed below to resolve the issue.

 

  1. Verify that there are no error messages on the display of the Brother machine. If an error is present perform necessary steps to clear the error before proceeding. Refer to "FAQs & Troubleshooting" for information on the error message you are receiving.

     

  2. Verify that the USB cable is securely connected from the Brother machine directly to the Mac. Do not connect the USB cable to the USB ports on the keyboard of the Mac.

     

  3. > Download and install the latest scanner driver which is available in the Downloads section of the Brother Solutions Center.

     

  4. Open the Brother iPrint&Scan and configure scanner settings.
    > Click here to see how to launch and use Brother iPrint&Scan to configure the scanner settings.

     

  5. Open your scanning application and test. The issue should now be resolved.
