How does my telephone company's Caller ID feature work with my Brother machine?
Your Brother machine's Caller ID feature allows you to use the Caller ID service that is offered by many local telephone companies. This feature will display the telephone number and name (if available) of the caller when the line rings.
After the line rings a few times, your Brother machine's LCD shows the caller's telephone number and name (if available). Once you answer the call, the Caller ID information disappears from the LCD, but the information is stored in your Brother machine's Caller ID Memory.
- You will see the number (or name) on the LCD.
- # Unavailable or ID Unknown - means the call originated outside your Caller ID service area.
- Private Call or ID Withheld - means the caller has intentionally blocked the transmission of Caller ID information.
Please note that Caller ID service varies with different telephone companies. We recommend you call your local telephone company to determine what type of service is available in your area.
