Send a fax without scanning the documents into memory.
When your Brother machine's memory is full, it cannot scan documents into memory before faxing them. Real Time Transmission allows you to send faxes without first scanning the documents into memory.
When Real Time Transmission is on, you place the document in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) or on the flatbed scanner glass and dial the fax number you want to send to. As soon as your fax line is free, your machine will dial the fax number and send the fax in real time.
You can make Real Time Transmission your default sending setting or temporarily activate it for the next fax you send.
To turn Real Time Transmission on, follow these steps:
-
Press the FAX key to illuminate it.
-
Load your document.
-
Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Real Time TX.

When you are using Real Time Transmission, the automatic redial feature will not work when you send a fax from the flatbed scanner glass.
