You can change the quality of your sent faxes by adjusting the Fax Resolution setting.

You can choose the following Fax Resolution settings:

Standard	Suitable for most typed documents.
Fine	Good for small print and transmits a little slower than Standard resolution.
S.Fine	Good for small print or artwork and transmits slower than Fine resolution.
Photo	Use when the document has varying shades of gray or is a photograph. This has the slowest transmission time.

Please follow the steps applicable for your choice.

• To change the Fax Resolution setting for the next fax only, go to Case A: Changing Fax Resolution for the next fax only.
  
  
• To change the default Fax Resolution setting, go to Case B: Changing the default Fax Resolution.

Case A: Changing Fax Resolution for the next fax only

To change the Fax Resolution setting for the next fax you send, follow these steps:

1. Press the FAX key to illuminate it.
   
   
2. Load your document(s).
   
   
3. Press Resolution.
   
   
4. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose the Fax Resolution setting you want to use.
   
   You can select Standard, Fine, S. Fine, or Photo.
   
   
5. Press OK.
   
   
6. Enter the fax number you want to send to.
   
   
7. Press Start.

Case B: Changing the default Fax Resolution

To change the machine's default Fax Resolution setting, follow these steps:

1. Press the FAX key to illuminate it.
   
   
2. Press Menu
   
   
3. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Fax and press OK.
   
   
4. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Setup Send and press OK.
   
   
5. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Fax Resolution and press OK.
   
   
6. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose the default Fax Resolution setting that you want to use.
   
   You can choose Standard, Fine, S. Fine, or Photo.
   
   
7. Press OK.
   
   
8. Press Stop/Exit.
