Uninstalling the printer drivers (Linux)
To uninstall the printer driver, do the following procedure.

Login as a superuser (or use "sudo" option if it is required)

Uninstall the CUPS wrapper driver
Command (for dpkg) : dpkg -P (cupswrapper-driver-name)
Command (for rpm) : rpm -e (cupswrapper-driver-name)

Uninstall the LPR driver
Command (for dpkg) : dpkg -P (lpr-driver-name)
Command (for rpm) : rpm -e (lpr-driver-name)

Check the uninstallation (CUPS wrapper driver).
Command (for dpkg) : dpkg -l | grep Brother
Command (for rpm) : rpm -qa | grep -e (lpr-driver-name) -e (cupswrapper-driver-name)

Check the uninstallation (LPR driver).
Command (for dpkg) : dpkg -l | grep Brother
Command (for rpm) : rpm -qa | grep -e (lpr-drivername)

Uninstall the CUPS wrapper driver (dpkg)
# dpkg -P ql1050cupswrapper # |
Uninstall the CUPS wrapper driver (rpm)
# rpm -e ql1050cupswrapper |
Uninstall the LPR driver (dpkg)
# dpkg -P ql1050lpr (Reading database ... 97349 files and directories currently installed.) Uninstall the LPR driver (rpm)
# rpm -e ql1050lpr |
Check the uninstallation (CUPS wrapper / LPR)(dpkg)
# dpkg -l | grep Brother |
Check the uninstallation (CUPS wrapper)(rpm)
# rpm -qa | grep -e ql1050lpr -e ql1050cupswrapper |
Check the uninstallation (LPR)(rpm)
# rpm -qa | grep -e ql1050lpr # |
