I'm using Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger. I cannot scan after installing the scanner driver.

Your machine was not selected as the scanning device when installing the Brother scanner software. This issue occurs if you have connected the USB interface cable to the machine before restarting your Macintosh or if you are overwriting a previously installed version of the Brother scanner software. You will need to select your Brother machine as the scanner manually. Please follow the instructions below to select the Brother machine as the scanner.

  1. Switch off and unplug the product from the AC outlet and disconnect it from your Macintosh if you already connected an interface cable.
  2. Turn on your Macintosh.
  3. Connect the USB interface cable to your Macintosh , and then connect it to the product.
  4. Start "DeviceSelector" by double clicking "DeviceSelector.app" in //Library/Printers/Brother/Utilities/ DeviceSelector folder or by clicking "Model" on the upper-left corner of the Brother ControlCenter 2.0 and selecting "Other...".
